We are a small rueda de casino group lead by Sassan Ito, called the "2th circle". We are seven couples and have met on Tuesdays for many years now. But since Sassan is one of the most creative cantantes, it never gets boring. Every week he comes up with new special ideas, structures, techniques and figures. So our ruedas are a kind of little playground and lab, where we test and improve new ideas in a really creative and funny atmosphere. In between we love to dance fast ruedas without any dile que no :-)
Rueda Almazenada
City: Madrid
“Rueda Almazenada” is a sport competition that was developed in Spain and has been continuously played for the last ten years. It is based on the Cuban “Rueda Casino”. “Rueda Almazenada” keeps official competitions in Madrid and Zaragoza and friendly matches in other Spanish Regions.
This Salsa dancing sport is similar to other sports involving teams confrontation, meaning coaches, team captains, referees and scoring in exciting matches resulting in the victory for one of the two teams when reaching the match duration time.
The sport competition is organized as in other sports, either as a regular league for all the registered teams with a calendar of matches covering the season or under an elimination scheme, where the match winner gains access to the next phase, as in the Tennis Grand Slam.
The Dancing School “EL ALMAZEN DE LOS SENTIDOS” (Las Rozas, Madrid) created this system of sport competition and has achieved that more than one thousand dancers have participated in the competition, so far.
Setting up balanced men and women teams, training, dancing, searching for cool costumes, studying and planning match strategies and living up the nerves to face rivals has attained such a mix of emotions that are hard to explain.
“Rueda Almazenada” truly merges two experiences, that were considered in principle unmixable: the fun at the disco and the sport involved in playing a soccer or basket match on the weekend.

We are a group from Graz who love to dance in a cuban way. We meet regularly several times a week. And we love to dance Rueda de Casino.
High Five Salsa

We are a group of casino dancers based in a small town in Surrey (UK). We are passionate about rueda de casino and we have 2 regular lessons: open lessons (casino foundations and rueda de casino) on Mondays and our High 10 group on Wednesdays. We like to try and create new moves, concepts and transitions in either in normal Rueda de casino, Rueda switch or within the Rueda Structures. We also do open regular (monthly) workshops on rueda structures in the UK open for other groups in the area. We also have developed a new concept of dancing rueda de casino in which there are no leaders or followers called "Rueda Equis". In Rueda Equis everyone has an active role and it has been introduced in a few of international rueda events with great success (even introduced in Rueda AlmaZenada!). We embrace chaos and craziness in our group and we like to call fast, challenging and fun ruedas and to improvise moves and calls as we dance to the music! We are very lucky to be in touch with other very talented rueda groups in the area (some coming to RuedX!) and look forward to exchange ideas in Berlin with other dancers who are passionate about rueda de casino!
Soner@s de Berlin

We are a Son Rueda group that meets around four times a month. We combine classical Son figures with modern Casino and Rueda elements. But we take care that we don't drift away too much from the Son tradition (apart from the roles). Of course we dance en Contratiempo. Our group members are a mix between experienced Soner@s and people who just discovered the dance some months ago. Some of our favorite Sons are: Mercedes, Venenosa, Taxista, Tu Sonrisa, Idilio, El Carretero.
Themis & Nikolatina
City: Athens
We are one of the few rueda groups in Athens. We consist of very different people but we have become best of friends. We meet 2 hours (or more) per week, to dance rueda, play around, laugh and experiment with new figures and structures. We introduced rueda to our team and it has become our new way of entertainment. We have conquered all our dancing achievements up to now, including participating in world record Guinness for the "largest rueda de casino in the world" in 2014. We organize the "international multi flash-mob day rueda de casino in Athens" the last 5 years and the 1st Athens Ruedathon in 2019 for charity.
